Clinical Camouflage

Definition

The deceptive design practice where an AI system is anthropomorphized to mimic a licensed healthcare professional (e.g., wearing white coats).

Compliance Relevance

AB 489 explicitly bans this. Avatars cannot imply licensure. White coats on avatars must have a prominent 'AI' label.

Why It Matters

Scrub 'Dr. Bot' personas. Use abstract icons. Ensure the bot never speaks in the first person as a doctor ('I diagnose...').
