Our Story
California Compliance Group was founded in San Francisco in 2025, just as California's landmark AI healthcare legislation—AB 489 and AB 3030—was being finalized. We saw a gap: while major health systems had armies of lawyers to interpret these new rules, smaller clinics, digital health startups, and solo practitioners were left confused and vulnerable.
Our founding team came together from diverse backgrounds: healthcare law, clinical medicine, and AI development. We shared a belief that compliance should be a catalyst for trust, not a barrier to innovation.
Today, our free Compliance Calculator has helped thousands of organizations assess their AI systems against California's strict requirements. We're proud to be the most trusted resource for medical AI compliance in the state.
